So pleased to see Lando Norris get his chance in an F1 car at last, earlier this week.
The 17-year-old tested for McLaren’s Formula One team at the Hungaroring in Budapest, impressing many with the second quickest time, behind only world championship leader Sebastian Vettel!
After looking after the young driver’s PR for five years, it was always clear he had a very special talent and is destined to reach the top.
And not only is he a super-talented racer, but he is a real credit to his family and management team – showing a maturity and graciousness beyond his years.
Lando was presented with the amazing opportunity after winning the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award last year – given to the most promising young British racing driver each season. He also signed to McLaren’s young driver programme.
While he looks set for a huge and lucrative career in the sport, for now he is focussed on winning the FIA European F3 Championship.
But after that, stardom awaits him just around the corner.
